In Kogi, gunmen kill four police officers and take their rifles.

 


Gunmen have k!lled four policemen in separate attacks on police patrol teams in Kogi State.

The first incident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025 when about 20 armed men attacked personnel of 70 PMF Kabba attached to Isanlu Area Command at their pin-down patrol point along Ilafin-Odogbe Road, Yagba East LGA

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, ASP Umar Suleman and CPL Bitrus Isaac were shot d3ad in the attack, while the assailants carted away their two AK-47 rifles with 28 rounds of ammunition. 

The corpses were evacuated to the General Hospital Mortuary, while joint security teams have intensified surveillance, bush combing and intelligence gathering to track down the attackers. 

In a separate incident, hoodlums attacked 37 PMF personnel at Abugi outpost in Lokoja on the same day at about 11:30 a.m., k!lling Insp. Johnson David and Insp. Ehinola Oluwole on the spot. 

The assailants also carted away their service rifles a T06 rifle and an AK-47 with 30 rounds each while a passerby, identified as Isah Gilad, was k!lled during the attack. 

The corpses were deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, for autopsy, while all police formations in the state had been placed on red alert and deployed at strategic positions to counter further attacks.

 Lionel Messi’s bodyguard Yassine Cheuko has been banned from protecting the Argentine forward in the touchline during Inter Miami matches. Barca never had financial room to register Olmo -La Liga

 La Liga said Wednesday Barcelona did not have the financial capacity to register players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and still lack it, ahead of a decision by Spain’s sports council (CSD) over the duo’s eligibility to play. In January Barcelona announced a deal had been reached to sell VIP boxes at the club’s Camp Nou stadium, currently being rebuilt, worth a reported 100 million euros ($108 million), which gave them the financial fair play room for new licences for the players. La Liga said Barcelona used an unnamed auditor between December 31 and January 3 which recorded the deal on the club’s books, but their current auditor no longer includes it in the club’s interim financial statements for the first part of the 2024-25 season. “No amount from the (VIP box deal) is ultimately recorded in the profit and loss accounts, contrary to what had been certified by the club and the auditor at the time of said transaction,” said La Liga in a statement.
