After Man City defeated Manchester United 3-0, Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Ruben Amorim's future.

Manchester United are facing another challenging start to the season, but manager Ruben Amorim remains confident in his ability to turn things around, Fabrizio Romano has reported in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

United suffered a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City over the weekend in the Premier League. While the loss was perhaps expected, the team’s performance was underwhelming, as City cruised to victory without exerting full effort.

Amorim took over at Old Trafford a few months into the 2024/25 season, succeeding Erik ten Hag. He initially struggled to find rhythm with the squad but was given the summer to work with a full pre-season and strengthen the team through transfers. Despite these opportunities, the club has seen little improvement so far this term.

Romano confirmed that, despite the difficult start, Amorim is determined to give his best for Manchester United and believes that with time, he can resolve the team’s issues. He wrote, “It’s a difficult moment of course, but Amorim wants to give his best for Man United, he’s convinced that with time he will sort things.”

Currently, United sit 14th in the Premier League with only one win from their first four games. With significant investment made in the summer transfer window, Amorim is under pressure to deliver results quickly.

This season, the Red Devils are not involved in European competitions, which could allow them more focus and preparation time to improve performances. United’s upcoming fixtures are challenging, starting with a home match against Chelsea managed by Enzo Maresca, followed by a trip to Brentford and then a home game against Sunderland in early October.

The next international break in November may prove pivotal, as the club could reassess Amorim’s position if the team’s form does not improve.

Barca never had financial room to register Olmo -La Liga

La Liga said Wednesday Barcelona did not have the financial capacity to register players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and still lack it, ahead of a decision by Spain’s sports council (CSD) over the duo’s eligibility to play.
