Professor Udenta Udenta, a political analyst and scholar has stated that the All Progressives Congress is planning to "levy a political war" on the Northern region.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Professor Udenta stated that it could have significant implications for the 2027 general election.
According to Professor Udenta, the APC's strategy hinges on a potential disunity within the Southern political landscape. He argued that if a figure like former President Goodluck Jonathan or Labour Party's Peter Obi were to "dismember the south and break that unity into pieces," it would ultimately weaken the southern political power base.
Udenta specifically pointed to a scenario where the incumbent president is "isolated to the 'Emilokan' section of the South, that means the southwest" a reference to the Yoruba phrase meaning 'it's my turn,' which became a rallying cry for President Tinubu's campaign. This isolation, he believes, would leave the northern region in a position of power and influence.
In such a fragmented political environment, Udenta predicts that the North would be the decisive factor in the 2027 presidential election. He stated, "the north will be the one to decide between the two southern brothers in 2027 election."
