Manchester United Women return to competitive action for the 2025/26 season with a UEFA Women's Champions League second qualifying round semi-final against PSV Eindoven on Wednesday.
We face the Dutch side in Sweden with hopes of reaching the third qualifying round, and the ultimate goal of reaching the competition proper later this year.
The game could also provide Marc Skinner with a first opportunity to test out new signings in a competitive fixture, after a strong pre-season on home soil and in Marbella.

TEAM NEWS
Skinner's side look to be entering the new campaign with a relatively clean bill of health. The boss confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the major concerns are Rachel Williams and Leah Galton, who are both two to three weeks away from being involved, while Grace Clinton is still being monitored.
The game against PSV could provide a competitive debut for new signing Julia Zigiotti Olme who joined over the summer from Bayern Munich. She already has a few pre-season outings under her belt, in games against Manchester City, Real Betis and, most recently, Liverpool, putting her in a strong position to hit the ground running in the season proper.
Fridolina Rolfo is the other new face through the door for United, but having joined from Barcelona later than her fellow Swede, she is yet to make her first Reds appearance and it seems the game against PSV may come too soon for her.
"We are looking at [the fact that] Frida is probably going to miss two to three weeks," Skinner confirmed to the press. "She had a little niggle going into the Euros and obviously she forced that through to play, but we want to make sure she lasts the whole season."
PRE-SEASON PREPARATION
The Reds have been hard at work over the summer with this game against PSV on their horizon, having faced WSL opposition in Liverpool, City and Villa, sandwiching a trip to Marbella for some warm-weather training and a game against Betis.
Skinner admitted that the Spanish opposition were not at their best in the 8-0 win at the Marbella Training Centre, but braces for attacking trio Celin Bizet, Melvine Malard and Elisabeth Terland should hopefully have set our scoring momentum in motion.
Our most recent outing, against the Merseysiders at Leigh Sports Village, ended in a 2-2 draw, with Simi Awujo and Lionesses star Ella Toone getting themselves on the scoresheet.
PSV have been similarly hard at work, taking in pre-season games against the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach, Anderlecht and Bayer Leverkusen, before getting their competitive campaign under way last week with a 3-2 loss to FC Twente in the fourth edition of the Dutch Super Cup.
HOW DOES QUALIFICATION WORK?
We enter the Women's Champions League at this second qualifying round thanks to our third-placed finish in the Women's Super League last term.
The winner of the tie between United and PSV will play Saturday's final against the winner of Hammarby v Metalist Kharkiv, with the two defeated semi-finalists meeting in a play-off to determine third place in the mini-tournament.
The side victorious in the final will enter the league path of the third qualifying round, while the loser of that match and the winner of the third-place play-off will drop into the new UEFA Women's Europa Cup. The loser of the third-place play-off will exit European football for the season.
The third qualifying round involves nine two-legged ties, split between the champions path (four ties) and the league path (five ties). The winners of each of those games will then enter the league phase, with the defeated sides entering the Europa Cup at the second qualifying round stage.
