Man Utd Are Preparing a Formal Offer to Sign a 26-year-old Brazilian Top Class Midfielder

Despite spending nearly £200 million this summer on bolstering their attacking options, Manchester United may not be finished in the transfer market yet. Manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly targeting a midfielder to help improve the team’s disappointing performance from last season.

New signings include Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who joined after scoring 20 Premier League goals last season, and Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, alongside RB Leipzig youngster Benjamin Sesko. With the forward line seemingly settled, United are now linked with Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara.

According to Turkish media outlet Takvim, Manchester United is preparing a formal offer for Galatasaray’s Sara, who has impressed in the Turkish Super Lig since his move from Norwich City. Although Galatasaray are reluctant to sell their “magical” midfielder, they may consider offers around £34 million—more than the £20 million they paid to sign him from Norwich.

Sara has caught the eye with 45 appearances and 10 assists last season. However, competition for his signature is expected from other Premier League clubs. A potential hurdle is his contract, which runs until 2029, but the comparatively lower fee makes him an attractive option.

This is especially relevant compared to other midfield targets like Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, who would reportedly cost around £100 million—three times the amount—potentially limiting United’s ability to reinforce other areas.

Gabriel Sara, a product of São Paulo’s academy, joined Norwich in 2022 after their relegation. Despite limited opportunities in the Premier League due to Norwich’s struggles, he scored an impressive 13 goals in 45 games during his second season. Known for his attacking capabilities, Sara may be less defensively solid than Baleba but offers creativity and forward thrust—qualities that would suit Amorim’s vision for reshaping the squad.

At 26 years old and with some experience in English football, Sara could complement new signing Sesko well, providing the creativity Manchester United desperately needs. Last season, only Everton and the three relegated teams scored fewer league goals than United, underscoring the need for attacking midfield reinforcements.
