JAMB Changes UTME Date and Warns About Changes in Examination Town


 The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which will now begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025, throughout Nigeria.

Originally scheduled to commence on Friday, April 25, the exam has been brought forward by one day to accommodate what the Board referred to as “essential commitments by the Board and its partner agencies.”

This announcement was made in an official statement issued on Saturday, April 19, by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor.

“The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is now set to commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Friday, April 25, 2025. This adjustment has been made to accommodate essential commitments by the Board and its partner agencies,” the statement read.

Candidates are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with their assigned centres in advance to avoid confusion or delays on the exam day.

JAMB has reiterated that candidates must take the examination only within the towns they selected during registration. Any attempt to write the UTME in a centre outside the assigned town will not be permitted under any circumstances.

“Please note that candidates will be assigned to centres within their chosen examination towns; no candidate will be placed in a centre outside their selected town,” the Board stated.

In a continued effort to combat exam malpractice, JAMB recently launched decoy websites to trap individuals attempting to cheat. These fake websites were part of a sting operation that exposed at least 180 candidates, some of whom paid between ₦30,000 and above for fake exam question leaks and score manipulation services.

In preparation for the main UTME, JAMB also disbursed a total of ₦397,030,900 as transport allowances to 1,909 officials who participated in the nationwide mock examination held on April 10, 2025.

Barca never had financial room to register Olmo -La Liga

 La Liga said Wednesday Barcelona did not have the financial capacity to register players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and still lack it, ahead of a decision by Spain’s sports council (CSD) over the duo’s eligibility to play.
