How to acquire the BVN number?



To obtain your Bank Verification Number (BVN), you can either visit a bank branch to enroll or check your BVN using the USSD code 5650# on the phone number registered for your BVN.

1. Enrolling for a BVN:
Visit a Bank Branch:
Go to any branch of the bank where you have an account, fill out the BVN enrollment form, and present yourself for data capturing (fingerprint, facial image, etc.). 
Required Documents:
You'll need a valid means of identification (e.g., International Passport, Driver's License, Voter's Card, National ID Card) and a recent passport photograph. 
Enrolment Fee:
There may be an enrolment fee, so ensure you have evidence of payment or the fee itself. 

Acknowledgement Slip:
After submitting your application, you'll receive an acknowledgment slip with a transaction ID. 
BVN Generation:

Within 24 hours, the system confirms your application, generates your BVN, and you'll receive an SMS for pickup. 
Diaspora Enrolment:
If you are not in Nigeria, you can enroll for a BVN at Avante Global Services centers worldwide. 

2. Checking your BVN (if you already have one):
USSD Code: Dial 5650# on the phone number registered for your BVN. 
NIBSS Portal: You can also check your BVN on the NIBSS website. 

Bank's Mobile App: Check your BVN through your bank's mobile app.
